My father recounting his experiences when evacuated from Newport during the early years of the Second World War. Born In Aberystwyth and sent to live with relatives in Newport after the death of his parents, Garfield and his brother were evacuated from Newport to Rhymney. Later both boys were sent to homes run by Barnados for the duration of the war.
