Prince of Wales Theatre, Cardiff

Description

The Prince of Wales theatre, situated on the corner of Wood Street and St Mary Street, Cardiff, dates from 1878 when it was called the Theatre Royal. It was designed by W. D. Blessley and T. Waring.
The theatre interior was remodelled by Willmot and Smith in 1920. The exterior remains an impressive example of a 19thcentury Venetian Gothic theatre, with refined neo-Classical work of the 1920s. It was converted to a pub in 1999.
