Caermead Roman villa, near Llantwit Major,is built around an 'L' shaped courtyard and there are several buildings of different sizes for various domestic and agricultural purposes. It had elaborate mosaics and a bathing suite. Part of the site was used as a cemetery, presumably in the early medieval period.
