Psalms and Hymns for Soldiers in the Field - Welsh supplement

Description

This booklet of psalms and hymns was produced in September 1914 for soldiers serving in the British Army. In addition to hymns in English and Scottish Gaelic, this version contains a supplement with 28 Welsh-language hymns. The choice of hymns is appropriately martial - the first one is William Williams Pantycelyn's 'Marchog, Iesu! Yn llwyddiannus / Gwisg Dy gleddyf ar Dy Glun' (which has been translated as 'Ride triumphant, blessed Jesus / Gird thy sword upon thy thigh').
