Laying of Jabes' foundation stone
Description
Jabes is the Baptist Chapel in Llanychlwydog, Cwm Gwaun, Pembrokeshire. The current building was completed in 1904 so I suspect this photo was a couple of years, maybe one, earlier. The prominent gentleman on the right, to the rear, wearing a bowler hat was John Evans of Pengegin. Not an ancestor of mine. I'm sure some distant relations must be in this photo though!

Hi, thanks for uploading this! I'm related to the John Evans you mention, and just wondered where you found this photo as I'm very confident that others in the photo are my relations also. It would be great to find out anything else you know about the photo. Thanks, Bethan

Hi Bethan,
The photo was shared with me by a person on a genealogy site who happened to have a distant family connection. I cannot remember who it was as it was so long ago. Sorry! Best wishes, Deborah.
