Butlins Holiday Camp Brochure p2

Description

This is one side of a two sided fold out full colour brochure advertising improvements made at Butlin's holiday camps. It features the camp at Pwllheli on the Lleyn Peninsula in which a new rope railway has been installed.
A minature railway was installed in 1953 and a chairlift in 1960.
Despite protests by the Lleyn Defence Committee in the 1940s, Butlin's opened at Pwllheli at Easter 1947 with a capacity for 5000 holiday makers. It remained a Butlin's camp until 1990.
