Butlins Holiday Camp Brochure p1

Description

This is one side of a two sided fold out full colour brochure advertising improvements made at Butlin's holiday camps throughout the UK. It features the facilities and attractions at all Butlin's camps including the new rope railway at the camp at Pwllheli on the Lleyn Peninsula.
A minature railway was installed in 1953 and a chairlift in 1960.
Despite protests by the Lleyn Defence Committee in the 1940s, Butlin's opened at Pwllheli at Easter 1947 with a capacity for 5000 holiday makers. It remained a Butlin's camp until 1990.
