Vacancies for Assemblers at Hotpoint 1974

Description

This is one of several advertisements which appeared in the Rhyl Journal throughout October 1974.
The Hotpoint factory at Llandudno Junction produced washing machines for the British market. The Company was advertising for semi-skilled workers for the factory assembly line.
This advertisement features a man working as an assembler, welding together a front-loading washing machine.
The advertisements are interesing for the level of salaries offered and the difference between salaries for men and for women. Workers worked a 40 hour week over 5 day shifts or 4 longer night shifts and the company offered free transport from Rhyl, Prestatyn and Abergele for particular shifts.
