Seilo Chapel, Nant Gwrtheyrn c1970s

Description

Capel Seilo was the focal point of the quarrying community in the late 19th century and first half of 20th century. It served as the village school as well as being used for prayer meetings and the Band of Hope. Along with the rest of the village, after the qaurries closed, it fell into ruins. Now restored, today it is the Heritage Centre, housing an exhibition of the history of the valley as well as still being a place for religious ceremonies including weddings.
