Description
Lloyd George was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer in Herbert Henry Asquith's government in 1908 and in 1915 he became Minister of Munitions in his wartime coalition government. In December 1916 Lloyd George replaced Asquith as Prime Minister and led the country through the rest of the First World War.
