Mynydd y Garreg County Primary School, Classroom Photograph
Description
A photograph from the late 1960’s of a class at Mynydd y Garreg CP School, pictured are Geraint Price …
Mynydd-y-Garreg Primary School has served its community for well over a century, standing as one of the longstanding educational institutions in the Kidwelly area. Founded in the late nineteenth century, the school developed as a small, close-knit rural centre of learning, deeply connected to the life of the village. Over time it became a Welsh-medium school, playing an important role in supporting the Welsh language and culture locally. Despite modern challenges—including recurring proposals for closure—the school remains valued as a historic and cultural cornerstone of Mynydd-y-Garreg.
Pictured in no particular order Sian Lewis, Wendy Evans, Gwyndaf Lloyd, Sian Edmunds, Malcolm Thomas, Paul Evans, Luther Morgan, Monica Harries, Geraint Price, Anita Richards and Thomas Francom.
