Peacock butterfly
Description
The Peacock butterfly, Aglais io can be seen throughout lowland British isles. They feed on the common nettle plant. The eggs are laid in batches on the underside of the nettle leaves in May or early June and will hatch in one to three weeks. They will pupate in late June or July.
