91 William Street, Ystrad Rhondda: originally a barber shop pre 1914, showing Samuel Upshall the barber with his apprentice.
Circa1950, the barbers shop had been converted to a grocery run by Samuel's son Glyn Upshall. Next door is an older grocery, (closed), owned by Miss Butler. Eventually Glyn purchased the property and expanded by merging the two. Next to Miss Butler was Stan Greenaway, cobbler
