Transcription (English) of an interview with Lizzie Wilberforce, reflecting on a lifelong commitment to nature conservation in Wales, from her current role as Head of Terrestrial Nature Reserves at the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales to when her interest in nature first became apparent. Lizzie has spent most of her career working for the Wildlife Trust, with a five-year break of which she spent as head of Plantlife Cymru and started her position as editor of Natur Cymru magazine with the Initiative for Nature Conservation Cymru. From an interest in nature since primary school, Lizzie started volunteering with her local Wildlife Trust at the age of 14, a valuable experience which led to opportunities with the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales including seasonal work on Skomer Island. Lizzie shares her experience of starting a career in conservation in Wales along with practical insights for anyone looking to do the same and expresses what makes her hopeful for the future of wildlife in Wales.
