The Journey of Grief
Description
The Journey of Grief is the record of a path I never expected to walk, shaped by loss, memory, and the slow rebuilding of a life. It began as a private attempt to make sense of the days after my wife Linda passed, but over time it grew into something more: a way of honouring her, a way of understanding myself, and a way of offering comfort to others who find themselves in the same quiet places of grief.
The story moves between personal reflection and the landscapes that held me, and the familiar routes that became part of my healing. It also traces how this journey led me into digital heritage work, eventually shaping the Fourth-Generation Memorial now hosted on People’s Collection Wales. The memoir sits behind that innovation; it explains why remembrance matters, why stories must be preserved, and how technology can help us keep dignity and identity alive.
This document is not written as a guide or a lesson. It is simply an honest account of how grief changed me, and how, over time, it opened a new purpose. If it helps someone else feel less alone, then it has done its job.
