Cardwell's sewing factory, Machynlleth 1967

Description

Julia Rowlands was a sewing machinist at Cardwell's sewing factory, Doll St, Machynlleth. Sometimes, the girls were asked to model the garments that were made at the factory. This picture shows Julia Rowlands modelling one of them and is standing in a van which could have been used as a " Black Maria " police van that carried prisoners. This particular van was used to transport the workers to and from work at the factory.
