My dearest Helen,
It is very good of Mrs Logan to invite me to stay a night, and please thank her for this and for her goodness to us all (always).
But I could not set off so soon. Besides, I don't want to make two journeys to town. I

Possible the result of Friday evening.
Assure Mrs Logan of my sincere trust in her.
Yours and wholly yours Edwy
shall come once, and on that occasion we must go through the necessary performance.
Haynes says he will help me in case of pressing need. But do not mention this: it would have to be done through his father, who, as a man of the world and of common sense, would despise me ever after; it will be (illegible) service.
Through Haynes, I have quite a chance of getting tutor's work in the vacation.
I cannot write a letter.
Yesterday I was invited to meet Miss Lucas with Haynes, but preferred not to go at such a time.
You will of course let me know as soon as
