Dearest Helen,
I can only pray that you will
be as happy by the sea as you [illegible] -
even happier than you are now. I can see you
there now, [illegible] I can. And do let it be near the sea
that [illegible] - Alas! I must
send them "In Praise of [illegible]".
Ever yours dearest little one, Edw.
My anemone maiden
Goodbye: and pardon me
left hand image
you spend most of your
time, not with people
who are offensive to
me, or the youth
who is loathsome to
me. And so may I
have ever before me the
vision of your cheeks
eyes and hair - your
flowing dress - your
head so perfectly
right hand image
poised. Write soon
and say if I may indulge this vision. -
I had a lecture
this morning, and
was invited to lunch,
and have work to sort.
This is therefore
another apology. The
only news is the
rejection of my Speaker
