My dear Gordon
Thank you for your book. It has
reached me at a Manor Han on
the Somerset border where I am staying with
Clifford Bix and a doctor, a friend of his.
This doctor is working magic with my
disordered intellects & in a few hours I
shall be better able to enjoy Chambers of [illegible] II
than ever before. I shall have something
like your own courage - I hope it is not
painful to you lto be reminded of this at
a time when you have needed it all so long.
But there is such a continuous flow of
talk here & of outdoor adventures to Bath etc
that I can't read anything. I leave on
Saturday & shall take the book with me
home. Soon I shall be hard at work on
Swinburne but when it is over I may
quite possibly get up to you. If anything
occurs to you about Swinburne your hand
will hold a pen - do let me know. Goodbye.
I hope the spring will be as kind to you as to
me. Here it has been perfect for a week.
Give my love to Emily. I am ever
yours & hers Edward Thomas
