The men, Mark, Kevin (Keegan), Tyrone, and Robert—recalled their early experiences with Valley’s Kids, originally known as Bike Club, which they joined as teenagers in Penygraig. The club provided a safe, welcoming space for youth to socialize, play games, take part in creative activities, and enjoy recreational opportunities like pool, table tennis, discos, bouncy castles, and trips.

They emphasized the sense of community, freedom, and support the club offered, helping keep young people off the streets and fostering positive relationships. They fondly remembered projects like murals, t-shirt printing, breakdancing, and trips to places like Swansea and Maerdy Mountain. Many stayed connected into adulthood, bringing their own children to the club and participating in its activities.
