Indian brass medallion depicting Hanuman, in circular decorative surround. Suspension cord from hook. Additional information provided as part of ARAWP session Dec 2024 with Indian Heritage UK. "Monkey God said to have built 'Ramsethu' Bridge between south India and Sri Lanka (Ceylon) with rocks and a monkey army. This helped 'RAM' to cross to Sri Lanka across the sea to rescue his wife who had been abducted by an evil king called Ravana in Sri Lanka. This bridge is now under water is visible on Google Maps. Hanuman is usually associated with Lord Ram. Hanuman was also asked to bring back a medicinal plant called Sanjeevani from a mountain. Unable to find Sanjeevani he is said to have brought the whole mountain.
