The Hut in Penyard
Description
In the 1930s a new meeting place was established for the growing branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Merthyr Tydfil, when a wooden hut was erected in Penyard. Dedicated for worship by the president of the church who was visiting from Utah, the hut stood for thirty years - as promised in that dedicatory prayer - until a larger and more permanent structure was built in Georgetown.
