A New Language Act? 1983

Description

This is the response to Menna Elfyn's letter of 16 December 1982 sent to Ann Clwyd. Menna was writing on behlaf of Cymdeithas yr Iaith, the Welsh Language Society. Ann's secretary had to respond to Menna's letter as Ann was away in Senegal.
Menna Elfyn was the leader of Cymdeithas yr Iaith's Language Status Group and they proposed to hold a conference on the need for a new Welsh Language Act in 1983 as the original 1967 Act was considered inadequate and passive.
