Women in Work Confererence Programme

Description

This is the reverse page of the advertising leaflet for the first Women at Work in Wales Conference to be held in Cardiff on 2 November 1974. It outlines the programme of the conference and includes a registration form. Child care facilities were also offered. Aimed at encouraging more women to take an active part in union life, the conference was to discuss anti-discrimination and the prohibition of sex discrimination, and implications of The Equal Pay Act due to be implemented by December 1975. The numbers of women in work in Wales had been steadily rising since the 1960s and many essential industries depended on female labour yet two-thirds of working women were not trade union members. Ensuring women understood their rights was a key aim of the conference.
