Mary Catherine Davies was born in 1928, a daughter to Isaac and Gwladys Evans Garth Owen, Glasbwll, Machynlleth. Mary attended Derwenlas School and Machynlleth County School. She worked at the telephone exchange in Machynlleth and Shrewsbury. Mary married Caradog John Daviesand moved to 34, Heol Pentrerhendy, they paid 500 for the house. They had a son and daughter - Brian and Heulwen. Mary died in 1990 at the age of 62, her grandson was born four hours after her death. A time of sadness and joy.
