This photograph was taken from the tower of St David's Church, Carmarthen. J. F. Lloyd also photographed the newly opened park from the same tower. This view gives us a glimpse into everyday life at the time. Washing has been draped over the hedges around the field in the foreground of the photograph. The streets nearest the church are empty but in the distance, a very busy market scene can be seen in Lammas Street.
