Description
Robert Wynn (1520-98) was the third son of John Wyn of Gwydir and was a rising star of the Tudor gentry in Wales. Around 1555 returned to North Wales and married Dorothy Griffith. He bought a town house in Conwy in 1570 and from 1576 both he and his wife rebuilt the mansion to the Plas Mawr we see today.
