Tom Jones/Gwyngalch Morgannwg

Description

Two traditional Welsh jigs. Gwyngalch Morgannwg is a version of an English jig called 'White Joak'. First published in 1731 by John Walsh, in his 'Third Book of the most celebrated Jiggs, Lancashire Hornpipes, Scotch and Highland Lilts, Northern Frisks'. This recording is from a joint project between trac and Musik Dalarna in Sweden, with traditional Welsh tunes performed by ten young musicians under the name 'Degogenod', recorded at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff on 7 August 2003.
