Description
Photograph taken by Evan Samuel Rees of the R.A.M.C whilst serving in the Middle East during the First World War. Evan Samuel Rees joined the army at 19 and served in the Middle East during the First World War. Medal no.1669, PTE E. S. Rees with the R.A.M.C (Royal Army Medical Corps). He survived the WW1 and returned to live at home in the Swansea area.
Note on the back reads:
“P.S.
The Church sphere in the foreground is the actual place ‘where Christ is supposed to have ascended into Heaven.’
It’s the highest point in the land 2500 ft above sea level & can be seen for miles around.
