This image shows the arrival of the ‘grain ship’.  The ship has been hit by a mine, and is awash forward, but has reached port. Most imported foodstuffs arrived in major English ports but were shipped onwards around the counrty, including to Welsh ports, albeit using smaller ships then depicted here.
