ST CAFFO'S CHURCH
Description
RCAHMW aerial photograph of Llangaffo church, 2005.
St Caffo's Church was built in 1846 near the site of an older, probably ninth century church. Items associated with the earlier church still survive, including gravestones and a cross, a circular twelfth century font, and the fifteenth century elements of the former doorway now incorporated into the churchyard gate.
St Caffo is thought to have been martyred by shepherds in the vicinity of what is now Llangaffo
