St Winefride's Well. The Bodice
Description
In 1878 a chest full of human bones, wrapped in an old garment, was discovered in the Holywell presbytery. They have been commonly regarded at the remains of two unknown 17th century men martyred for their Catholic faith.
The human remains were found wrapped in this garment made of linen. The bodice is a rare survival of an article of clothing worn by a person below gentry status
