The Annual Pontypool Fete in Pontypool Park was always a great event,which attracted major performers and acts. Blondin (of Niagara Falls fame), visited the fetes in several occassions through the 1880's.
Whilst some beleive that this image shows the preparations for one of Blondin's shows, it is more likely to be one of his successors, around 1909.
