Watkin (my father) was aged 17 and 10 mths when this photo was taken in April 1914 after he had finished 2 years on board HMS Conway training ship, which was anchored in the river Mersey. He was born in Llwynieir, Llanfair Road, Lampeter on 26 June 1896. His parents were David Jones (Tynlofft, Silian ) and Sarah Thomas (Trellwyn, Llanwnen). They then lived in Churchill, Bryn Road, Lampeter and from 1950 onwards Watkin and his family lived at Erw Isaf, Cellan.
