Murex Shell

Description

No number - This is a rose-branch murex called Chicoreus palmarosae. It is a sea snail found in Asia from the central Indian Ocean to Japan. It preys on clams and other shellfish. This specimen probably belonged to Caldicot Castle’s Victorian owners.
