Slate sample
Description
188/94 - This piece of Cambrian slate is unusable due to the layer of sandstone running through it. This makes it likely to split. Slate is a metamorphic rock. This means that it has changed from its original sedimentary rock, in this case due to pressure. It used to be said that slate from north Wales 'roofed the world' as it was exported so widely.
