Fossil tree root

Description

WREMA.2009.13 - This fossilised rooting structure is called Stigmaria. It is from a group of early plants called lycopods, that grew near Wrexham around 300 million years ago. It was found close to Brymbo Fossil Forest, where over twenty similar trees were discovered.
