Ystrad Mynach Police Station
Description
Photograph of the Ystrad Mynach Police Station, near Caerphilly in the Rhymney Valley.
It is believed that this photograph was taken in the 1940's, when it was the Divisional Headquarters for the 'F' or Ystrad Mynach Division of the Glamorgan Constabulary.
In the 1969 amalgamation, it remained the 'F' or Ystrad Mynach Division of the newly formed South Wales Constabulary.
The station was demolished and the site is now occupied by Lidl store.
Responsibility of policing the Ystrad Mynach area and most of the Rhymney valley was later transferred to the Gwent Police.
