This is a rather accurate watercolour of the Head of the Nant Ffrancon Pass in the Nant Ffrancon Valley. It was painted the year before the major oil, Rocky Valley, North Wales. Piper hascaptured a great deal more detail in this work by applying pen and ink over a watercolour wash base.
