An inscription on the foundation of St Nicholas' Greek Orthodox church reads: "The foundation stone of this building was laid on the 25th March 1915, by Mr. Antonios Momferatos Consul General for Greece. The building was extended and renovated in 1995/96 with the generous help and donations of the Greek community of Cardiff and South Wales and re-opened by His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain on 5th January 1997."
