Tunic of Chief Constable Lionel Lindsay, Glamorgan Constabulary, 1891-1937

Description

Captain Lionel Lindsay first served as Superintendent at Merthyr Tydfil - he joined in that rank, his father then being Chief Constable of Glamorganshire. Lionel Lindsay subsequently became Chief Constable, and served the Glamorganshire Constabulary for a total of 48 years. Between them the Lindsays' length of continuous service was almost 100 years in total.
