An ointment prepared primarily to counteract Blister Gas which had fallen upon the skin, whether as liquid, spray or vapour. It could be applied as a thin film to the skin as a preventive, or as a remedy after contamination so long as the skin had not already become reddened. It was not effective against Nerve Gas. The ointment is made of bleach powder and white petroleum jelly.
These tins of anti-gas ointment were issued to the police in 1940 but never used.
