Chief Constable of Glamorgan's ceremonial sword, 1800s

Description

This ornate sword with its snake-skin handle would have been used for ceremonial purposes. The blade is engraved with the words 'Rife Brigade' which suggests the sword either belonged to the first Chief Constable of the Glamorgan Constabulary, Colonel Napier, or possibly the third, Lionel Lindsay.
