The banner was made in October 2003 by 15 young people from Glynneath Training Centre's Youth Drop-In and unveiled at the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of the Community University of the Valleys Partnership. The young people looked at the images of the miners banners held at the South Wales Miners' Library and used them as a starting point to create a new banner that represents their centre and the community in which they live. The banner hangs in Glynneath Training Centre.
