Memorandum of Commitment to Gaol, 21 December 1550
Description
This 'Memorandom of Commitment to Gaol' reads as follows:
Thomas ap Llywelyn ap Gruffydd ap Tudur and Richard ap Thomas ap Llywelyn ap Gruffydd brought before John Wyn ap Meredydd, esq., at Gwydir one Gwalchmai ap Ieuan ap David Velinyth, taken upon suspicion of having stolen from the house of John ap Ieuan ap Rhys ap Hwlcyn in the parish of Dwygyfylchi in the commote of Uchaf, a jacket, doublet, a bag and a pair of shoes belonging to the above Richard ap Thomas and to David ap Thomas his brother. The prisoner, Gwalchmai, upon his examination, confessed the felony and was taken "with ye man at plas calyd Gwytherin in ye Countye of Denbygh" and is now sent to the king's gaol, in the custody of the foresaid Thomas and Richard and Robert ap David ap Hywel ap Eingion, to await his trial.
