A photograph of Thomas Brookman, a blind fisherman resident in Swansea in the late nineteenth century. The photograph was taken by James Andrews at the Royal Institution, Swansea. The inscription reads: ' Thomas Brookman, of 12, Fleet Street, Swansea, aged 55, was born at Newport, Mon. He has been blind twelve years, but finds his way from his home to the Fishing Grounds (The Mumbles) night or day - alone - and any part of "The Sands".'
