Title in pencil verso in K.W. hand. £90' verso in pencil in K.W. hand (and previously rubbed out, '--3 gns' 13gns?). Paper is watermarked 'Raffaello C.M. Fabriano'. See Williams K.W. 'A Wider Sky', 1991 (pp 42-58) re visits to Italy (1950 and 1960). On a stylistic basis this probably belongs to 1950 Rome visit (pp 43-47). See p 44 for a drawing of this scene.
