Original autographed manuscript of concert overture by Mendelssohn (1809-1847), dated 1832
Description
In 1862 Geoge Powell of Nanteos purchased from the sale of the library of the Society for British Musicians an autograph manuscript of Mendelssohn's concert overture 'Meerestille und glckliche farht' (Calm sea and prosperous voyage) 1832. It is among several manuscripts he bequeathed to the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
