Porter first heard about Community House from an advert in a local newspaper and became a part time youth worker in 1991. He didn’t have much understanding of Muslim Culture at the time and was interested in learning more. He helped to run a group called ‘Roshni’ which was a youth group for young Muslim boys. Porter gives interesting insights into Muslim culture.
