This group photograph was taken on board the
BELFORD while she was anchored in San Francisco, 1916. According to the handwritten note on the back, the photograph shows from left to right: Mrs Hughes, Glyn Hughes, Captain William Davies, Mrs Phillips (with the
BELFORD's extant), presumably Mr Phillips (with the BELFORD's telescope), Tudur Hughes and Gwen Hughes.

This document was brought to the attention of the U-Boat Project 1914-18 by William Davies's grandsons, John Davies, Denbigh, and David Davies, Mold, who inherited their grandfathers' documents and naval artefacts and kindly allowed us to share it.
